This is not an illusion but just a funny Spoof. iPhone 5, Apple increased the iPhone's screen size from 3.5" to 4" diagonally, over its previous iteration. The handset's width has, however, remained the same. According to Apple, it is designed that way to keep the iPhone 5 operable with one hand. Based on this, the guys at Satire have taken a jab at Apple with a spoof video — where Apple executives explain the advantages of an unusually elongated iPhone. This device creates the illusion that a simple stream of water droplets can defy the known laws of physics. By controlling a set of flickering LEDs, the dripping water can appear to slow down, freeze in mid-air, and even reverse in direction.

This illusion exists because the brain attempts to fill in the gaps between flashes with its anticipated motion. It is the same reason that your brain interprets the 24 frames/second of a movie to be in-motion, rather than recognizing the individual still frames .

Impossible motion: magnet-like slopes

In this video, wooden balls roll up the slopes just as if they are pulled by a magnet. The behavior of the balls seems impossible, because it is against the gravity. The video is not a computer graphic, but a real scene. What is actually happening is that the orientations of the slopes are perceived oppositely, and hence the descending motion is misinterpreted as ascending motion. This illusion is remarkable in that it is generated by a three-dimensional solid object and physical motion, instead of a two-dimensional picture.
