Hidden Designs Illusion

Can you spot hidden designs in this image ?

Superman & Clark Kent Hybrid Illusion

The famous double personality super-hero appears here. Up close it appears that the mild mannered reporter, Clark Kent, is presenting the lovely Louis with flowers. If you step back a few meters, however, Kent's alter ego will emerge. The beautiful bouquet of roses will begin to recede back, as it is well aligned with the red and yellow "S" icon that spans the front of superman's leotard. The lines that stand to indicate the features of Clark Kent's suit will gradually disappear into superman's brightly colored ensemble.

Disappearance at the Desk Illusion

The cluttered desk in the image above is constructed with high spatial frequency superimposition of color onto a black and white low spatial frequency field. At close distance, there is a woman sitting at her computer amidst a somewhat cluttered desk. These elements exist in pale colored tones. Once you move away from the image a few meters, the woman at the desk will disappear as well as the surrounding clutter. The pale colored tones will have faded into the sea of gray scale that exists on the lower spatial frequency plane.

Leopard Elephant Hybrid Illusion

At a far distance, the leopard above will regroup with its ghostly halo to form an elephant. The prominent texture of the leopard spots transform into a dark shadowy region on the underbelly of the elephant, as if he recently exited a lake nearby.
You can also try this by slowly closing your eyes a bit in front of this image.

Cat Dog Hybrid Illusion

When you look at the image below,At normal screen viewing distance you should see the face of the Cat. Now squint your eyes or take a few steps back from the image. Does a Dog pop into view?

It is interesting to note that without the provided original images for comparison, the hybrid could be imagined as a real image. The features of each animal blend together; the nose of the dog becomes a shaded patch on the face of the cat. Although there is a successful and definite switch that occurs with altered distance, the hybrid itself appears as if it is a new animal all together.

Dolphin Car Illusion

This hybrid illusion was made by Antonio Torrabla and Aude Oliva. The Hybrid images change interpretation as a function of viewing distance. In this image we reduce the size of the image to simulate the viewing at a distance. When you move few meters away from the screen ,the Dolphin image will look like a Car. You can also try another trick : Close your eyes slowly when you are watching this image.

Marylin Monroe-Einstein illusion

When you look at the image below, whose face do you see? At normal screen viewing distance you should see the face of the great scientist Albert Einstein. Now squint your eyes or take a few steps back from the image. Does a certain Hollywood personality pop into view? The Marylin Monroe-Einstein hybrid image was created by Dr. Aude Oliva for the March 31st 2007 issue of New Scientist magazine.

It's not just a crafty illusion. This sort of image is being used as a tool to understand better how our brains process visual scenes. On the practical side, some companies are interested in using them to conceal information from unintended observers - or to create printed advertising that morphs before your eyes.

This Hybrid images change interpretation as a function of viewing distance.
Its looking a cycle now but from far away, the shadows will form a motorbike.

Mr.Angry and Mrs.Calm illusion

If you watch the below images from your seat in front of the computer, Mr.Angry is on the left, and Mrs.Calm is on the right.

Get up from your seat, and move back 12 feet, and PRESTO!! They switch places!!

This illusion was created by Phillippe G.Schyns and Aude Oliva of the Univ. of Glasgow.

This proves that we may not be seeing what's actually there, all the time!!

Cat woman Illusion

We can create textures that disappear with viewing distance. This picture shows an example of a woman’s face that turns into a cat when looking close. Note that this effect can not be obtained by superimposing the woman’s face and the cat’s face using transparency. Using transparency (additive superposition) creates a face that will not change with distance.

Dr Angry and Miss Calm

The woman face will turn into an angry man when seen from a few meters away (here we reduce the size of the image to simulate the viewing at a distance).
