Looks like the guy is holding up a tube, only in with the right persective to give the illusion that he is holding a cherry. The shadow of his raised hand seems to support this. It's the old pushing a building trick.
i think he is holding onto something and making it look like he is holding that cherry. it somewhat looks real, and at the same time doesn't.
