How to Make A Rainbow

Previously i had posted about How Rainbows Are Made? Now here is the tip to make your own Rainbow.
Fill a glass of water (almost to the top) and place it at the very edge of the counter in a dark kitchen. Place a sheet of plain white paper on the floor a few inches away from the counter. Put two pieces of masking tape over the front of a flashlight so that the light comes out of a slit about 1/8 inch (0.3 cm) wide. Shine this light across and down into the water as shown in the figure. When a narrow beam of light is passed through a glass of water, a spectrum can be seen on a white sheet of paper.

Can you see a small rainbow on the white paper? If not, move the flashlight around a little until you achieve the best results.

Now that you know what to look for, you will begin to notice small rainbows wherever sunlight falls on water, glass, or plastic that has a tapered shape. Look for rainbows produced by the beveled edge of a mirror or a chandelier.

How Rainbows Are Made ?

There are two raindrops illustrated on the image.

The droplet with the light rays depicted with colored, solid lines has the long wavelength (red) ray going into the observer's eye. The blue ray depicted by the solid line does not enter the eye. The rain drop with the light rays depicted with colored, dashed lines has the short (blue) wavelength ray going into the observer's eye. The long wavelength (red) depicted by the red dashed line does not go into the eye.

Only one wavelength from a rain drop makes it into the eye. But there are many rain drops, in many different positions and because light will interact with each rain drop in the same way, there is steady progression from long wavelengths (red) near the top of the rainbow to short wavelengths (blue) near the bottom of the rainbow with the yellow and green colors in between.

When we see a rainbow be aware that the entire sky is loaded with raindrops. Yet, we see only a narrow band of color we call a rainbow. That is because the eye receives only a narrow band of rays from a narrow band of raindrops. None of the other light rays reflected from the other raindrops make it into our eyes from the particular position we are in at any one time.

Muller Lyer Optical Illusion

The Muller-Lyer illusion is a size constancy illusion. In this illusion, the red and the blue lines below are the same length, but due to the effects of the arrows the red line appears longer.
Muller-Lyer attempted to explain the illusion he had discovered as follows: "the judgment not only takes the lines themselves, but also, unintentionally, some part of the space on either side."

Funny Soccer Ball Butt Kick

It takes a lot of concentration and self-control to pull this off. Or in. :P
According to eyewitnesses, the ball hovered for a full five seconds while the cameraman adjusted the focus and f-stops and thingies, and everyone else looked for a match.
This is one the funniest photography trick i seen..its really makes you think...how they managed to stop the soccer ball for 5 seconds.

Once the photograph was taken, Midfielder Lannie Foosers just blew it off.

New Hidden Eagles Illusion

Try to find how many hidden eagles are in this image.

Love Or Hate Illusion

This t-shirt spells out "Hate" until you see it in a mirror, then the same cleverly formed letters spell out "Love". I don't know if this t-shirt is for sale or merely conceptual/art, but I think it's Amazing.

Purple Bending Lines Illusion

Would you believe these two purple lines are straight ?

These two lines are perfectly straight. It's just the background that makes it look like they are not.

Fitness Company Bag

This is really a very creative and funny bag.
